History of Personal Defense Systems (PDS)
Master Mike started training at the age of 5. Since that time he has earned 5 Black Belts, and he has taught thousands of students, including many military Special Forces groups and law enforcement agencies. He has also been in the Executive Protection business (Body Guard) for the past 7 years.
PDS takes all of Master Mike’s experience and puts it in an easy-to-follow curriculum that just about anyone can learn -- Geared toward real life situations from real life experiences.
Why is PDS different?
Most Martial Arts systems teach and train in a traditional way that has been carried on throughout the centuries. A lot of the movie- (Hollywood-) style punches and kicks will never work in a real-life situation. This is great if a student wants to carry on the art as a tradition or wants to compete in a tournament or controlled environment.
PDS, however, trains for all areas of a real confrontation.
Class Description
Each class is designed to give students a challenging workout including cardiovascular and strength building techniques. Our instructor to student ratio is between 1 to 5 and 1 to 10, which allows the instructors to focus on the personal development of each individual.
The PDS Program incorporates 7 areas of focus:
1. Upper body strikes.
2. Defense to upper body strikes.
3. Lower body strikes.
4. Defense to lower body strikes.

Rank Structure
EVOLVE Academy of Martial Arts has a rank structure much like the Martial Arts Master Mike grew up with. Students wear belts that start with the color white. It is a 4-year program if the student trains 2 times a week.
